HDT PROJECT -2024

In the 2024 program FIDE accomplished the following;

  • Purchase 18 dairy cows to promote intensive livestock keeping.
  • Construct a biogas plant for 6 households.
  • Support 6 schools on fuel-efficient stoves.
  • 4 Training farmers on sustainable agriculture.
  • Support farmers with 480 kg of improved maize seeds.
  • Train women in entrepreneurship skills (4 workshops).
  • Support women in vegetable production.
  • Install a rainwater harvest system at Mandagew Primary School.
  • Install 5 rainwater harvests (run-of water at Gesibert and Managha villages.
  • Train farmers on dairy cow husbandry (4 workshops).
  • Purchase of 17 blackhead sheep (dopers to support 10 families in Pare-Mountain.
  • Introduce convenient sustainable energy

The following strategies highly influenced the achievements of the 2024 program;

  1. Promotion and awareness-raising for establishing groups of vulnerable people to undertake renewable energy activities.
  2. Building the capacity of the target group and other stakeholders to impart skills and ensure the project’s sustainability.
  3. Stakeholder participation cooperation from all interested parties, including the government.
  4. Gender issues: there is an inbuilt gender sensitivity in the project’s design.

In this program, we are expected to reach 80 rural farmers who directly benefit from the project. This action will primarily target the most vulnerable individuals, youth and women. The other 324 farmers indirectly benefit from the project.

FIDE facilitated on-site field visits to various areas, rainwater harvest installations, livestock management systems, renewable energy, and wood-saving cooking stoves at school.

The objective is to improve access to livelihoods and promote environmental conservation among farmers in Babati district, Tanzania.

The secondary objectives of this project are ;

  • To contribute to the reduction of environmental degradation
  • To improve economic activities
  • To improve the well-being of family members.

  • Promoting women’s income through support them in their generating activities.
  • Promote rainwater harvest systems technology
  • Support farmers in improving the livestock -keeping system
  • Support Resident with water-Gesibert water project.
  • Support schools (renovate dining hall-Riroda Sisters),Support ST. Thomas Aquinas with computer facilities
